ACADEMIC POLICIES
Student Code of Conduct
To maintain academic excellence and institutional discipline, all students of Unified Law College are expected to strictly follow the following rules and policies. Violation of any rule may lead to fines, disciplinary action, or cancellation of admission.
1. Uniform and Dress Code
- All students must strictly adhere to the official college uniform:
- Male Students: Black trousers, white shirt, maroon tie, grey coat
- Female Students: White shalwar kameez, maroon dupatta, grey coat
- Wearing the college ID card at all times during college hours is mandatory.
- Violation of the uniform or ID card policy will result in a fine of Rs. 500. Repeated violations may lead to cancellation of admission.
2. College Timings and Late Arrival Policy
- College timings are from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
- A relaxation of 15 minutes is allowed. After that, a fine of Rs. 100 will be imposed.
- In case of leave, students must: Submit an application in the college office, or Inform the administration through the official college contact number.
- Failure to inform or submit leave will result in a fine of Rs. 200.
3. Class Attendance
- Attendance at ULC is BIOMETRIC based and is shared with Pakistan Bar Council every MONTH.
- A minimum of 75% attendance is mandatory in each subject.
- Students falling short of this requirement will not be allowed to appear in the university examinations.
- No medical, emergency, or leave certificates will be accepted—all such absences must be covered within the allowed 25% margin.
- A fine of Rs. 200/- per uninformed leave will be charged.
4. Use of Mobile Phones and Electronic Gadgets
- The use of mobile phones or electronic devices is strictly prohibited during classes and college hours.
- Violation will result in confiscation of the device, which will be returned only to the parents, along with a fine of Rs. 1000.
5. Respect for Teachers and Administrative Staff
- Students must show respect and courteous behavior toward all teachers and administrative staff.
- Any form of misbehavior or misconduct will lead to an inquiry by the Disciplinary Committee, and appropriate action will be taken based on the findings.
6. Protection of College Property
- Students must take care of all college property, including:
- Furniture, classrooms, library books, equipment, plantation, and fixtures.
- Any damage will result in: Disciplinary inquiry, Financial penalty, and Further administrative action, if necessary.
7. Misconduct, Fights, or Immoral Behavior
- Any student involved in fighting, disturbance, harassment, or immoral activities during college hours will be subject to immediate expulsion from the college.
- Moreover, the immoral behavior of the student will also be reported to the University of the Punjab and Pakistan Bar Council.
8. College Fee and Financial Responsibilities
- The College tuition fee must be paid according to the schedule provided at the time of admission.
- University charges (exam fee, degree fee, any fee other than college tuition fee) are separate and must also be paid on time.
- Late payment of the college fee will result in a fine of Rs. 100 per day.
- The student must clear his/her tuition fee by the first week of the commencement of the respective semester. Failure to pay the fee by this period will result in ineligibility to be enrolled in that semester.
9. Examination Rules and Penalties
- Attendance in mid-term and send-up exams is compulsory.
- Absence from any paper will result in a fine of Rs. 5000 per paper.
- Failure in any paper will result in a fine of Rs. 2000 per paper.
- Students failing in two or more subjects in internal examinations will be disqualified from appearing in the final university exams.
10. General Discipline and Violations
- Violation of any of the above rules may result in: Fines Suspension Cancellation of admission, or Disqualification from appearing in university examinations.
11. Ban on Political and Sectarian Activities
- All students are strictly prohibited from participating in political, partisan, or sectarian activities, including: Joining student unions or political parties.
- Violation of this policy will result in immediate expulsion, in accordance with the Government of Pakistan Martial Law Order.
12. Identity Card Policy
- Displaying the College ID Card is mandatory at all times.
- Entry without an ID card or refusal to show it when asked by staff will result in disciplinary action.
13. Attendance on Campus
- During college hours, students must remain within college premises.
- Leaving the college without permission will be considered a violation and may result in disciplinary action.
14. Writing or Vandalism
- Writing on walls, desks, spray painting, or chalking anywhere in the college is strictly prohibited.
- Students found involved will face disciplinary inquiry and fines.
15. Disciplinary Proceedings
- All disciplinary cases will be forwarded to the Principal and referred to the Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee.
- Decisions may include warnings, fines, suspension, or expulsion, depending on the severity of the offense.
16. Academic Rule
- At the end of each semester, internal assessment marks—which contribute to the final university results—are submitted to the University of the Punjab.
- These marks are based on mid-term exams, class tests, attendance, participation, and overall discipline and conduct.
17. Migration Policy
- If a student wishes to migrate during the academic year, they must clear the full annual fee. Migration will not be allowed otherwise.
- No Objection Certificate (NOC) for migration will not be issued to any student who has been found involved in misconduct, disciplinary violations, or unethical behavior during their time at the institution.
18. Detention and Fee Liability Policy
- Any student who is detained due to failure in all subjects or is dropped from the program in a given year or semester will be required to pay the full tuition fee for that academic year or semester as per the prescribed fee schedule, in order to retain or regain their admission status.
Final Note
- All students are expected to uphold the discipline, dignity, and decorum of Unified Law College. Ignorance of these rules will not be accepted as an excuse. The college reserves the right to amend, add, or update these policies at any time.
